Another cabinet and a catering trolley

Osa heidän löydöistään on vanhaa ja antiikiksi luokiteltavaa, jonka he säilyttävät alkuperäisessä asussaan.

Vaunun päällä on kirppikseltä ostettu kaffeserviisi.

Remember Veronica and Erica from the Shabby Chic Project? They have bought a small house from the countryside and they named the house as Silvine. They have heard a lot of stories during their childhood about their great-great-great-great-great grandmother and her family which lived in 18th century in a wealthy manor called Fjärilsgård. Since then there were so many generations and the family was split into many different stems. Anyway, there comes their enthusiasm in everything old and antique. They have inherited some heirlooms of the family but only a few.

Most of their furniture and other stuff they acquire from antique auctions and flea markets from the Nordic countries and France. Some of their finds are old enough and best to keep in their original state whereas others are fairly new and then they just modify and experiment with them, e.g. paint, distress or wallpaper them to fit their style. They are not fussy about the style - it can be gustavian, new or country rococo, folk art or just "vintage" - the only restriction is that it must look old enough and items must be older than 1960's to be solid wood or other lasting material.

Now they have found an old cabinet from an auction. This has originally been a Victorian fireplace with a mirror. The girls, who are clever with their hands, turn it into a cabinet. In addition they found an old, rather ghastly looking catering trolley, which they painted white and distressed it. On top of it is an old coffee set from a flea market.

Bathroom details of the Silvine

Here are more bathroom details: a bathing podium and a dressing table. The little house Silvine (it has finally got a new name!) is situated the middle of Finnish forest in the countryside and without running water. Thus it has no facets and water pipes but just a jug for water and a bathtub of a reasonable size.

Kylpyhuone, bathroom

Tämä on kurkistus uusvanhan talon kylpyhuoneeseen - talolle pitää ehdottomasti saada uusi nimi ja uuden nimen tarina... Lisää kuvia tulossa joulun jälkeen. Hyvää Joulua!

This is a glimpse of the ambiance of the "new" bathroom of the old "Victorian" house - the house needs definitely a new name and a story for it... More photos coming after Christmas. Merry Christmas!

Peili ja pöytä, mirror and table

Tässä on uudistetun entisen viktoriaanisen nukkekotini makuuhuoneen peili-pöytä - yhdistelmä. Uudistettuun sisustukseen olen käyttänyt 99%:sesti vanhoja huonekaluja tuunattuna, ystäviltä saatuja lahjoja ja varastoista löytyneitä tavaroita.

This is a mirror and table combination of my former Victorian, now renovated, dollhouse. For this new style I have mainly used old but modified furniture and accessories and gifts I have got from friends.

Olen käyttänyt esikuvana kesämökkimme makuuhuoneen tätä 1:1 peili-pöytä -yhdistelmää. Värikin on sama, nimittäin Jeanne D' Arc living-sarjan Faded rose -värisävy.

As a model I have used this 1:1 furniture combination from our cottage. Even the colour is the same, Jeanne D'Arc Living -series Faded rose paint.

Kaappi, cabinet

Pitkän minihiljaiselon (jonka olen käyttänyt 1:1-sisustamiseen kesämökillä) jälkeen aloin remontoida viktoriaanista nukkekotiani samaan ranskalais-skandinaavis-vanhanaikaiseen muotoon. Tässä olohuoneen kaappi.

After a long time that I have used for interior decorating in 1:1 size at our summer cottage, I started to redecorate my old Victorian dollshouse according to the similar "French - Nordic - old times" style. Here is a living room cabinet
